Is it possiable to change the rear seal in the oil type flywheel clutch on a 977 20A/D6 with out pulling and taking the clutch apart?

We took the U-Joint and clutch brake off thinking that the piece of the drive saft in the clutch would then slide out giving access to the to the seal. (wrong it would not-to long to clear the trans.). This part of the drive shaft apears to be made in two pieces as it has to different sizes diameters and has a hole in it. But could not figure out how to get it to come apart.

In review of the service manual it apears the rear bearing case may be removeable without pulling the whole clutch. Is It and will there be room to get clear of the tractor?0

Any suggestions? Thanks:
