I have a Case 450 trackloader. I am having difficulty in tightening up one of the tracks. I pump grease into the track adjuster and watch the track start to tighten but it gets to a certain point and stops. Also, notice that grease is starting to come out at the back of the adjucting piston. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this problem?

Brian,

At the very least the seals will need to be replaced. Disassemble it to determine the cause and hopefully you can get by with re-sealing it. If there are more problems you will probably be better off replacing the complete assembly as Marlow advised. I can ship you a new aftermarket "generic" adjuster for $240.00. We need the machine serial number and to know if it is 2 or 4 bolt mountin.

Good Luck, Marc

this is common. case still sells the adjuster 325.00 but berco also makes them but don't know price. i have found that you might just as well spend the bucks for new ones because you have to brake the track to replace the adjuster or put in a new seal and if it rusty an pitted on the in side a new seal will not hold then you will just start over again did that one time never again
