CLARK TRANSMISSIONS USED IN CASE TERRATRACS?

I was talking to a fella a few weeks ago and he said that the transmission in the Terratracs and CASE 310/320/350 is a design by Clark.

Another fella had mentioned that it was the same transmission that was used in the Oliver OC-3's which I confirmed in one owned by my friend who has one.

When I was over at George-MD's house, he showed some 1930's Cletrac literature to me illustrating an exploded view of that transmission.

Was this transmission designed/manufactured orginally by Clark?

Is it the same Clark company that makes the industrial road construction equipment and fork trucks?

Did Oliver or CASE ever purchase the manufacturing rights to this transmission or just buy the units and install them in the machines?

I've never heard of or seen any reference to this transmission other that what someone has mentioned several months ago.

Not that it matters, but I enjoy the history of how these little crawlers came about first by ATC and then the acquisition/merger by CASE.

Hi.Ken the final drive that is on the terratrac is a cletrac(no stearing cluches, differential and brakes only)The clark used a twin disc shuttle
clutches and stearing clutches on the final. All of that was used by US Trac but it was given up by Terratrac.(I suspect because of the high cost)and probably because they had their own.If you are interested look at my web site:
