I painted the hood on my friend's Ford 2000 yesterday afternoon. Done spraying and was washing up the gun with lacquer thinner. I don't know how it happened but I managed to shake the cup somehow and splashed about a half cup of thinner in my face and in my right eye. AARRRGHH. He had to lead me to the sink so I could flush it out with water. Spent the evening in a lot of pain. Eyes and nose watering all over. Went to bed about 6 pm but couldn't sleep so I came downstairs and pounded down a couple of beers. That put me out and I slept till 4 AM this morning. Eye crusted shut when I woke up and still somewhat deflicted even now. I guess I'll live. You work around heavy tractors or in my case a lot of power tools and equipment and you learn to take care. But one little mistake and it's a big gottcha. I can't believe how it even happened. But BET that I'll be more careful around a paint gun and thinner in the future.
