Anybody know of a cross-reference database for turbochargers?
I recently put a turbo on a 379 c.i. diesel V8 and can't get boost above 4-5 PSI. So, I'm wondering if the turbo is sized wrong for the system. Max boost ought to be 8-10 PSI.
The turbo looks fine. Shaft is tight and impellers look perfect. It was part of some sort of kit made by Banks Engineering, but their tech guys can't help (I tried). Seems they lack records for some of their older stuff.
The turbo company is no longer in business. It is a Rayjay Rotomaster model 3AA1EE10B1.
I do know that later Banks used a Garret T04B for the system.
I'm trying to find out if these two turbos are equivalent to each other.
All I've been able to find is some old data showing my Rajay being used in turbo kits for Chevy 350 engines.
