It won't change the final outcome, but the gentleman who has rented our Nebraska farm ground since I quit farming it after all the 1993 rain issues has just a few days or weeks left. No more than 2 months at most. Has lung and brain cancer, and now severe diabetes from the treatments.
One of his boys is taking over, I get along great with him also, but Kelly will never be Jake. Jake was my best man when my wife and I got married here in Illinois in 2003, he helped me load several 24 ft livestock trailer full loads from the farm houses after my mom died in 2005 at 64 years old of a massive heart attack and my dad (divorced) later 2005 of cancer.
He was there for support after the old farm house burned to the ground Valentine's day 2007 when meth heads had something "blow". Still had 3 rooms clear full of OLD stuff, all the family tin type photos along with all the old family records were lost.
But, back to Jake. His wife Ruth has said she doesn't like to see him suffering like this. He is home, doctors have done all they can for him. We are going back one last time to see him for what it is worth. Ruth was a supervisor at a nursing home, without her knowledge and patience I am sure Jake would die in a hospital or nursing home.
Pray for Ruth, and that Jake doesn't suffer needlessly. DOUG
