Hello- I am trying to find info on a cultivator I would like to use on a small garden. I own a JD 830 diesel utility tractor. I am planing on using it on a 1 to 2 acre garden. Because of the small size I am not too worried about the number of passes I need to make. I would appreciate any info given regarding models and manufacturers. Searching the archives seemed to suggest that the trend in farming is going away from cultivating but it is still a good tool for small plots - any thoughts? I would like to find something used if possible. I was also wondering is it worth the extra money for a rig wide enough to break up behind one or both of the tires or would a small setup that only loosens behind the tractor work OK. The tractor has a 3pt, is there an advantage to the 3pt cultivator or would a drag cultivator also work out? Thanks Tom in western NY
