I dont know what a gas burner like that gets per mile,or is it a diesel? If its under 10 miles(this is last years price)to the elevator, with a diesel that gets 4 miles per gallon, its 12 cents a bushel. Now I think,I say think, the guy I drive for has went to 15 cents a bushel, maybe 16 cents a bushel because of the price of fuel this year.If its more than 10 miles,up to 20 miles its more by 2 or 3 cents with a semi that can haul 1000 bushels at a time.Everybody was happy with that last year, have not heard any griping this year. The price of everything has gone up,tires, fuel, oil, antifreeze, and even costs more for me to drive to work,so its too bad,but the price has to go up.If you have a gas burner, and you are driving it,not paying a driver, maybe 10 cents a bushel is ok,but I think it might ought to be 12 depending mostly on your gas mileage, and the price of everything thats gone up.One thing hurting you is the 375 bushels a load. That may be all you can haul legal, but if it was more bushels a load it would be worth more money,at least it would to me.
