Here in my moisture, supposed to be at 32,000 per acre. That's growing, you figure a few you plant don't make it.
Did that a few years, and had a little lodging pressure with the wide rows - too many plants so close together.
So, I'm planting about 29-30,000. This year mighta got more 28,000 or less - was driving faster because it was getting later with the wet spring. Then I got the 2 big winds and the hail storm - that cut population too.
Those with twin rows or 15 inch rows are playing with 40,000 an acre.
It's an odd year. Just finished my oats, looks like 80 bu an acre. Not bad, with the plowdown, turnip, & field pea mix planted in spring with it. Lot of stuff growing off that small field, hardly room for the oats. :) Wasn't expecting much for oats, typically get 50 bu an acre because it is my 'throwaway' plot.
