You mentioned the Ford V-4 engine, I know those engines were on the Owatonna Mustang skid steer loaders years ago,and made in Mn. also
I sure would like to have a Mustang 1700 Skid steer loader with the V-4 Ford engine and torque converter,with the "twist grip" throttle! sure had fun driving them in the seventies in Dallas,Texas
