I got a free tour of Europe some years back, sponsered by my dear Old Uncle Sam! Got to see England and France! Saw the Arc de Triumph thru the curved back window of an Army ambulance! Stayed in a nice hotel (hospital) in Paris! Saw the Eiffel Tower from my window. Got a free walking tour of most of rural France, although, i did get to walk on the race track at Le Mans! In some of the smaller towns our hike went thru, they had urinals fastened to the walls of houses. They had no covering or privacy--open at the top, but did have a small panel running along the side walk area. And, the balconies on the houses were above the urinals! And, i got 2 free ocean cruises! Accomodations weren't very fancy, in the boat that took us over, but the hospital ship, coming back, was all painted up, in red, white, and blue! We had about fifty men in the first one, in each area! Coming back, they gave us better accommodations! 4 men in each room! I suppose, after the way they sent us over, they must of thought they'd better treat us to nicer quarters! When we docked, the only folks there to give us any greetings, was an ambulance crew, which wisked us off to some hospital in Boston! That was my tour of foreign countries, and i don't want to go back!
