When we bought our place 18 years ago, it had two yard lites- $6 per month each, PUD (Public Utility District) furnishes power and maintiains them. About 2 years ago, I was fooling around with the service panel, trying to figure out which breaker was which, and one of the breakers turned off one of the yard lites. So we'd been paying $6 per month for 16 years, and had been furnishing the power to boot. PUD was not interested in refunding any of my money, but said they would replace the light bulb the next time for free- don't know when that might be, because neither light has burned out in the 18 years, and I'm not getting any younger.
