Aloha All! Thanks for asking! Well, it's a good thing that I live on the island of Oahu (capital) so we just got all shook-up and no real damages. The Big island (Hawaii) had some major damages and this was a very big one. I was in bed at the time (by myself), and then there was this rumble and it got louder and louder and everything started shaking. It reminds me of a freight train and my first thought was, oh no, N Korea must have sent a missle. I really can't tell you about cane harvesting except that it takes two years to grow and a lot of water. My grandfather used to work on the plantation and my dad used to drive the small steam locomotive before he owned his own contracting business. Too bad they are not aroung or I could have questioned them. It's a dying industry here and most of the islands sugar cane factories are gone. I am a retired communications tech. and do a lot of things but master of none (LOL). I have a small garden in back but also have a black thumb so it looks like the weeds win. Well, thanks for asking again and you all take care now, see you later. Mahalo, doogdoog
