61 year old lifelong farmer, recently retired. He died of intestinal cancer. Never smoked, drank, etc. Will really miss him, he was a good friend and neighbor. It was sad to see the disease eat him up, and near the end he just wanted it to be over. He was never in much pain due to painkillers given, but still was uncomfortable. He asked me to be a pall bearer before he passed, so I was honored to take part in that way. Think I'll plant a nice Oak (his favorite tree) in his honor. I guess his family will have to sell off all his tractors and stuff....he stopped farming about 5 years ago but still has a few tractors, hay wagons, etc etc.

Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live
