I recently aquired a Scat Trak with a bad motor. It has a replacement late model(2003) 400 series 2.2 liter Perkins. Apparently, this motor was run out of oil. This particular motor does not use standard main bearing caps to secure the crank in the block, but rather has "bearing carriers" that clamp around the journals of the crank and then it is installed into the block in similar fashion to a camshaft. Of all of the Internet parts sources, I seem not to see anything listed on this motor. question 1) are just the carriers available as a kit with bearings? Question 2) the crank appears to be able to be saved by turning journals(minor scoring and little wear)DO they turn these cranks? question 3) (The obvious one) if a complete crank kit is availalbe who can send me a name of a source? THANKS PEOPLE, Nightningale!
