Jerry, You might try a visit to the local feed store and pick up a small bag of whole corn and give it a try. You may make a mess of ash that you would have to clean up. I dont see how it could ruin your auger unless it is very small and thin. I have tried corn in my two stoves and it works well in both of them with very little air adjustment. Just keep an eye on your stack temperatures to make sure it isnt overheating and blowing out to much of you money.
