John, Box of 140 was like $23 and a box of wire $56. Both high. Availability ok. So add that to $1.75 farm diesel and everything else and watch your customers scatter when you tell them that their hay is gonna cost more this year. Besides that, one of my fields was victimized by the cool spring and the weeds won hands down. Had it prepped, fert, and seeded. Had to plow it all up and just now getting some rain. Then will have to reseed as soon as it is dry enough......that is if any haygrazer seed is left this late in the year. To boot, it is leased land and owner wants every 4th bale. Whadda deal! Ain't gonna do that again as baling on shares doesn't account for increased costs. Was going to say the heck with it for the year, but I can hopefully get 1 or 2 cuttings for the price of the seed and drilling. Gonna go for it. Don't want to loose the 300#/ac, $365 a ton fert. I put on it this spring.....won't be a whole lot of it left for next year. Mark
