Tractor painting

From the thread below about painting, I am curious as to whther I will need to remove any 'spray can'paint before I use an automotive type paint. I am sandblasting a few parts at a time while working on my B.F. Avery model R. I quickly prime and spray paint the parts after stripping. I would eventually paint the entire tractor with automotive paint but until then I will use spray paint. Can I sand and prime all the parts and than paint or will everything need to be stripped again? Thanks, Corvairkid
