Have a 1949 TE-20, Continental engine. The tractor starts well, then runs a short period (1-3 min.) then dies. Let it set for 30 secs. - 1 min. then starts fine and then runs 1 -3 min. dies again. Some time back I installed an in-line fuel filter. Is there a way to check these for being plugged. I blew through it and air passed through fine. I intend to buy another in the next few days when I get to the store. I saw the post below, but my tractor starts and turns over fine after a short rest. Could it still be indicative of a coil as mentioned below in the other post? Also, does anyone have any problem with their main jet adjusting screw on a marvel scheiber (sp) carb. opening up after running for days. Maybe vibration? How do I stop it from opening up? Does it hurt to be readjusting this screw over and over, since I have to turn it all the way in then back out 1 1/4 turns.
