I am sorry to post a truck problem here but I need some help. My 98 Chev Extended cab has started to cause me much grief at 55,000miles. Intake gasket, egr valve, camshaft position sensor, o2 sensors. The newest problem is a doozie. Wife says truck would not back up, only acouple of times. Check fluid filter all ok. I go to use the truck won't back up, IT will go forward. Then it will back up. All is fine. ! hour later go to leave my driveway, won,t back up. I can feel the drive line torquing up but no movement, so I gave it about 1/2 thottle. Blue smoke was rolling off the tires and it would not budge. Again it would go forward but not back. Then it is ok again. I suspect it is the anti lock brakes locking up the front brakes. Took it to the dealer to have it checked and they said there is nothing wrong, called GM about it and said they never heard of this before.. Has anyone else ever had this problem?? The truck is driving me crazy. I would have probably dealt it off but my crops for the past 2 years have been poor and my off farm job of 11 years is moving to Mexico.
