Today we started 2nd cut at home today and did two different fields last week. The tractor with the hay, the bales are from the two different fields, we got 90 bales. The gasket blew on the Ford 6610 Steering column cover gasket last Saturday when I was putting the baler away. I cleared the old gasket off and it got gasket maker Sunday, the gasket maker was set Monday and the haybine went on mid Monday afternoon before the rain and strong wind. We started mowing at home today at 10 am doing 2.5 mph and finished around 2:30. Around 3:30, I was pulling out of the field with a broken hay rake, and the column cover gasket blew again. I dropped the rake and it was a short ride to the shed. It took me 20 minutes to prep the column for the new gasket. Last Saturday to prep the column for the gasket maker was 30 minutes for whatever reason. We were wondering how long the gasket maker was going to last and I guess for six hour run time. Tomorrow, hopefully I can get a gasket. My brother mowed most of the day while I was fixing the fence for the cows. I also had help.
