Luckily I use a fine screen funnel when pouring fuel! This morning I was going to put in 5 gallons of diesel that had been sitting in the shed since last fall, and it plugged the funnel! I always keep 5 gallons extra because it's a long way to anyplace to buy diesel (25 miles) and I don't want to run short. In the late fall I put in 5 gallons of winter fuel so the last of the summer fuel just sits over winter. I add a little biocide to the tractor tank a couple of times a year but I guess I should put some in the cans. The tractor is an 01 JD 4600, and it's easy to drain the tank so I guess I will drain out a little. I have a spare filter on the shelf.
