I'm working on cleaning up a McC-Deering C21 mower to mount on a SuperC. The yoke on the back half of the driveline where it connects to the bearing box is just plain shot and needs replacing. The parts book indicates the yoke and shaft are threaded to the spindle on the front of the bearing box. Do any of you old hands have any good advice on how to break that thread loose? I've cleaned up the leaked-out oil and soaked it in various stuff to loosen up any rust and have had enough wrench and cheater on it to break off a good punch in the bearing box. It's almost as if there's a a key or something holding it. Any and all thoughts/suggestions will be much appreciated.
