Not really tractor related, but here goes anyway. I have an old Vermeer trencher with a 2 cylinder wisconsin engine and a mechanical pump. About a year and a half ago I was experiencing some fuel delivery problems. I decided to put a small electric pump on it. The pump puts out about 3 psi and is mounted below the level of the tank. The pump worked from the fall that I put it on until halfway through the next summer when it wouldn't pump right. Since I was in the middle of a job I just went and bought a new pump. We'll today that pump quit working. There cannot be 30 hours on both pumps. It is plumbed in with the correct the size line as per the instructions, has a good ground, and is mounted securely. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Don't recall the brand, however they were identical pumps from 2 different chain auto stores. Is there a chance that I'm not using enough fuel, and that is burning them out?

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches.
