I have purchased a 1977 IH 140 serial #61371J from the original owner. It came with a set of cultivators and plant shields that have never been used. It never had a main drive mounted on the bull gear or any type of implement mounted to a countershaft. The owner used it to cut grass and make the grand kids happy. I purchased the tractor to plant and work a large garden. I have acquired a main drive shaft and cog to connect to bull gear, chains, countershaft with a planter drive and a duplex planter marked peas on one side & corn on the other. The planter has shut off shields and seed plates with a lid and everything works. There is no seed drop tube. Please advise how this tractor should be set up to work a 1 to 3 acre vegetable garden. A manual for chain adjusting and operating would help tremendously. I don't want a pull behind planter, only a front mount. I plan on mounting a side dresser in front of the planter. All help is appreciated.
