Well, over for another year. Lots of tractors, more junk than ever in the flea market. Lots of tractors in the various pulls - three venues. Steam powered sawmill, also had shingle mill, bucksaw and saw that looked like a planer, but had two blades for cutting parallel cuts for making 2x4 stuff. Son and I were involved with the steam powered thrashing demonstration, unfortunately missed a lot of the show. Brought home 3 gravity boxes loaded with oats, probably 275 bushels, and about 200 bales of straw. We forked most of the bundles into the thrasher. Ache all over - gonna have blisters in the morning. Worst oopsie was when the baler the other fellow brought ran out of wire to tie the bales. Son had to scramble home and bring our string tie baler back to finish the job. Brought back most of the wagons last night - parked them in the neighbor"s barn, Just got home, pulled the last load of oats in our garage/polebarn, and tarped the last load of straw when it started sprinkling. (We"ve had somme real doozies of rainstorms over the years - had to fight awfully hard to keep things dry.) Saw rrlund (thanks for taking a turn on the fork) along with a number of other friends and neighbors - some may have been ytmager"s.)
