It would be hard to get that money for a truck like that even if it was a cherry truck with a diesel, air brakes, Fuller transmission, and a new set of radials. I'm assuming it's a 10 wheeler with a 20 ft body, but is it gas or diesel, hyd. or air brakes, and what kind of shape are the tires in? If you have to replace them, it would cost you a small fortune. GM made some good medium duty trucks in that time frame and in our area there are a lot of them on the road, but his price is way too high. We have 2 fire trucks in our department from that era and they are strong, reliable trucks. 70s and 80s GM trucks and 67-79 Fords are everywhere in this area. Even the big time guys with semis still use them for short runs hauling grain and hauling nurse tanks the rest of the year. We have a raggedy 67 Ford but it gets the job done just like a fancy truck would, and we aren't scared to make long trips with it. If you can get that old Chevrolet for a decent price you'll probably get a good truck though.
