If you mean the actual neutral-safety starter button on the tranny cover, the cover has to come off, 'cause the switch is retained by a nut under the cover. You'll need to get a gasket, and be aware there is a spring beneath the cover that pushes down on a detent ball. As to the electronic ignition, do a search over at the "N" Board, and you'll turn up all kinds of opinions, pro and con. Some say the 6-Volt system is NOT a good candidate for EI, because there's not much voltage to work with in the first place, and when the battery voltage further pulls down during cranking, there MAY not be enough voltage left for the electronic parts to "do their thing". This would NOT be an "issue" if your's has been converted to 12-Volts, and probably not IF you have a GOOD battery, HEAVY cables, and all connections are 'bright and tight".
