A couple weeks ago while cutting my lawn the rockshaft that raises the deck (JD 425) broke off at the groove in the splines so one side couldn't lift the deck. Wasn't looking forward to the repair as I had never been under there and assumed there was a good deal of tear down so I could get at it. I finally picked up the parts on Friday from the local dealer after ordering them online 2 1/2 weeks before.
I took the deck off tonight once the rain quit and put it up on my car ramps to take a look. Low and behold, it was only about 2 hours and I would be done, except one of the lifting links broke off in the clevis when I tried to lengthen it after putting the new lift arms in a different position on the splines to get more lift. Gotta just order that one link yet, get the broken one out, and I can lift the deck again. Will only have about $170 in parts.....
