In Memory Of "Shorty" Dear
Friend, supporter and community member Donald "Shorty" Dear passed away the morning of
February 19, 2002 due to a massive heart attack. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this
time of sorrow.
In Shorty's own words, he was raised on John Deere model D tractors and worked for the local JD dealership for 15 years selling John Deere's. Here at Yesterday's Tractors he participated often in our discussion forums and contributed much to our community of antique tractor enthusiasts. We have also known him as a collector of John Deere tractors and both a buyer and seller of JD tractors and parts. He supported this website for the last several years by paying for advertisements in the YT classifieds.
His personal tractor collection included a John Deere 1934 Model D, restored on steel, a 320S, 1947 Model D, a Model G, Gm, BNH, AWH, R, M, MT, 620LP, 720LP row crop, 720LP standard, and a 70LP row crop.
We are shocked by his sudden passing and we will miss him. God Bless his family and God Bless each and
every one of us as we mourn the loss of someone who touched the lives of so many.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
