Cub Clutch

Happy New Year to all and thanks for your help! 51 Cub. I now have a response from the clutch pedal but it leaves me confused. With the pedal fully depressed if I pull the starter I can feel what I’ll call a gear bouncing on my foot. I thought maybe I could just adjust the clutch to pull farther but it’s at the top end of the adjustment. Now the strange part. If the pedal is all the way out I can feel this gear effect also but right in the middle it disappears. What now. I also have a new question I put on a separate post. Thanks again !!! Stan
