Put the draft control lever all the way forward off and leave it unless you are intending to use it on a implement that is mounted and penetrates the soil like a moldboard plow. The operators manual gives a real good discussion of how to use the draft control but it doesn't really tell you it is nothing more than a cheater to decrease the load by raising the implement when the going gets tough like all draft controls work. There are some places like very uneven ground where it will actually maintain a more even depth than you can get with position control alone but they are rare. Also, the hitch has a single action cyl so no down pressure which is the way all modern 3 pt hitch's are. The old two point did have down pressure on the older tractors because they used a double action cylinder.
