Hi, I assume the 2400B is a Diesel. Most common problem on that style of tractor is junk in the bottom of the fuel tank. With a clean bucket under the fuel line take the fuel line off at the input to the primary fuel filter and let it run into the bucket. The fuel should flow the full of the fuel line pipe. If it does not or gradually slows down then junk is blocking the fuel outlet in the bottom of the tank. If you have good flow into fuel filters the next place is to check at input to injection pump. Depending if your tractor has the 1 or 2 fuel filter system, the fuel line comes around the front of the engine and before going into injection pump the line changes from steel to flexible and sometimes the inside of the flexible part will collapse.
If you have junk in the tank you must drain both sides and remove the outlet valve and clean. My brother's 684 had the remnants of a lady bug that would blog the outlet screen.
