Hey all, I was unlucky enough to have 2 (!) front tires blow out at the same time on my narrow front 1940 "H", but was damned lucky to not get hurt in the process, since it happened while in 5th gear at 3/4 throttle! I got the "H" into the barn ok, and got her jacked up and front wheels removed. Here are my questions: I want to convert to a Wide Front End - does it make sense to put new tires on the rims I have now, then use them when I find and buy a wide front? Do most of the wide fronts come with their own wheels or do they usually use the wheels that come off of the existing narrow front? I don't want to get new tires twice... Also, after removing my front wheels and looking under the front of the tractor that was blocked by the tires, I noticed 4 threaded bolt holes with nothing in them, arranged in a "square", two on either side of the wheel-mount-column-contraption. (The post the wheels attatch to that rotates to steer the front tires goes up behind the grill right in a center hole in the middle of this "square" framed out by the bolt holes) Are these bolt holes for mounting a wide front or for something else? Thanks in advance everyone... Pete in PA
