Well, after changing the starter switch, new batt. cables...I have power at the ammeter, starter, generator, all over, the starter just wont turn, come to find out they had to push start it for the last 6 months before it was put away, soooo im looing at getting a new starter.
i have a 12 volt generator and VR....I found a rebuilt 6 volt starter that has been converted to 12 volt on ebay (Wynette auto parts in MI) for $155 with core charge ($115 once i send my core back)and my uncle has the same set up on his M and he loves it...plus it looks original with the 12 volt capabilites.
Does this sound like a good deal or should I go with the 6 volt NEW starter? I get a little nervous with rebuilt stuff, even when done by pros...Ive been told that the 6 volt starters work fine with the 12 volt system....any advice?
