DW, go to caseih.com parts and search on model 2400 and you will find the Fwd-Rev under drive train. My brother has a 684 with T/A which is very similar to the Fwd-Rev as it was activated by lever on left of steering column. The only difference T/A reduces ground speed by 20% giving a shift on the go Hi/Lo in every gear turning the 8 speed into 16 speed + 8 rev. I looked at Fwd-Rev parts diagram and it installs in the same location as T/A but has two hydraulic clutch packs and an extra counter shaft to provide the rev. It is very difficult to tell if it is the clutch or Fwd-Rev. Usually if you put trans in 1st gear Lo range and tractor is on the level, even if the clutch is bad the tractor will move unless the springs are shot on pressure plate. There is an inspection plate on bottom of clutch housing where you can see a little of clutch operation. Does tractor change attempted direction if you change the Fwd-Rev lever?
If you email me at clarabrownlee@rogers.com, I will scan hydraulic test procedure for 684 T/A which should be very similar to 2410B Fwd-Rev.
