The only thing the PTO shares with the hydraulics is the common reservoir. The PTO has it's own hydraulic pump and intake filter/screen.
If the PTO has slipped you are going to have to do a total rebuild, not just a clutch pack replacement. Once it slips it ruins the piston seal with the heat generated. The brake pistons are probably worn out also.
It is not a really difficult job but it does take a few tools that most people will not have. Once you remove it from the rear frame you will need some way to compress the springs to remove the snap rings. It also takes a rather special hydraulic fitting to adapt a pressure gauge to the test port to set the hydraulic pressure after the job is done.
