Actual horsepower will vary depending on what was done to the engine in the past. I can say a lot of H's were hopped up with firecrater pistons and the like. My 51 H was and it is a pulling little beast and will outpull the wheel wieghts and new tires I have on it. It also has a nice crack to the exhaust when idling. What I did was to pull a spark plug and look at the piston tops and see what you have in there. There are several types that could be in there. Mine carried 150 lbs per cyl across the board and with step ups on the pistons and 150 lbs I determined it had firecraters. This summer I plan on putting it on a dyno and know for sure.
