farmall c rear axle seals

i am replacing mine and it seems if there is a grease zerk then there should be an inner seal to prevent the grease from mixing with the tranny fluid i assume. if this is correct how critical is this inner seal. it seems the worst thing that could happen is the wheel bearing gets lubed with 90 weight tranny fluid. am i correct on this and is this a problem worth solving (is replacing the inner seal very difficult?)any help is appreciated. obviously i do not want to make work for myself if it is not mission critical
