fuel gauge IH 574

I removed my fuel gauge on my 574 because I was trying to see why it doesn't work. Now the gauge seems magnetize and shows full when it is placed in the gauge panel, no wires attached. If you remove it and hold it away from the tractor it goes to empty. Also I am trying to track the wires. Is there a wire diagram avaiable any where. thank you
