How badly neglected is the tractor? If it was sitting outside with nothing covering the exhaust, then you're probably going to end up with a full tear-down of the engine. If it was sitting in a relatively weather-tight barn, you might be in luck and the pistons are only slightly stuck. Beyond just the pistons, you can have stuck piston rings, even after the engine is freed. You can have stuck valves, too.
