If you have to go in to replace the thrust washer the tractor needs to be split between the TA housing and the differential housing. With the side cover off to catch the parts on the shaft, the shaft is threaded and you can put a slide hammer on it, and pop it out easily. You would also want to check the shift coller and gear to make sure that they aren't wore to bad. There is also 2 different split gaskets so make sure that you would get the right one because that will make a difference on that shaft too. This problem doesn't happen every time you shift into reverse just when the gear happens to be in the right place. If you have any other Q's for me this week you can call me at work.
