I have a job to do on the M that I have been putting off for several years. The transmission input shaft seal drips which I've been using a bucket under it. I know I have to pull the hydraulic pump and remove the 4 bolt bearing block and seal that supports the transmission input shaft. Question: When I remove the bearing block, will the transmission shaft drop allowing the shift mechanisms, all the bearings, and all gears, to end up in the belly of the transmission housing? Or, will it stay in the same postion and behave itself?
