I've been reading this forum for a few days and I'm not surprised to find a bunch of good folks talking about red tractors. Back in the 70's and early 80's I put about 4000 hrs. or so on a '73 766 diesel with a little TO4 sitting on the right-hand manifold. Weighed 15,000 w/fluid, duals, and some iron. Ran about 130-140 h.p. in the field, made a few 4430 guys wonder if they needed to change fuel filters, and pulled out-of-field at 180 (remember out-of-field classes with h.p. limits and dyno checks?), and it has one of the rudest whistles you ever heard. My father-in-law owns it now and it's still never had the head off. Sorry about the nostalgic fit, but do any of you remember an 806 called the Red Baron that pulled super stock back in the 70's? I lived close to the guys that pulled it (in NW MO). They walked on a lot of bigger tractors with it for a long time, then sold it about the time people started putting two chargers on. I think it sold into Iowa and just wondered if anyone's heard of it since.
