Allen-- I have been around a long time, worked with our first diesel back in '51 with a MD. I worked this 986 on a 20 foot field cultivator on sod for 7 hours and the temp gauge only got half way to the green . the air is purged out of heater lines, I know about that also, and the air is only warm coming from the heater. I just think I got a bum thermstat for thr $30 it cost. So the information you passed on is only valuable for a yuppie farmer. Alvin
