F-20 Clutch

I have an F-20 which has sat for a few years waiting for the time to properly address it. When I bought it, it ran but suffered from a sticky clutch that would only come free by starting the tractor in neutral, forcing it like crazy into gear, probably taking years off of the life of the gears and then popping the clutch to break it free. Finding some rare spare time this week after finishing painting the house, I tore into it. So far it seems surprisingly uncomplicated, though of course putting it back together may hold some surprises. I was mystefied to find that the clutch and plates while tacky really didn't seem to justify the tremendous battle that ensued at time of purchase and then trailering it home in order to free the clutch. The only thing I could theorize was that someone may have been overzealous with the grease gun on the numerous grease fittings and it found it's way onto the plates and became tacky through being heated. Has anyone else encountered such a tale of woe? It has me a little mystified and I don't want to put it back together without addressing all possible problems. Could it be weak clutch plate springs? I really don't know what to think. Also, seeing as I have it apart I thought I'd put a new clutch into it. Can anyone refer me to a source for one? Somewhere along the line I picked up the impression that there were two differing sizes of clutches. Is that true or am I mistaking the case for an F-12? Thank you for any assistance.
