Steve: He did say service manual, and I'm betting if it is an IT manual, that one probably doesn't say. Yes I agree the operators manual will. You probably didn't see Jim's advice before posting. If you do get oil running out the top petcock, let it all run out. Farmalls are very sensitative to being over full. They pop crank seals quite easily. I never fill a Farmall to the full mark, been doing this for 45 years. 1/4" below full mark is close enough, doesn't matter whether it's petcock or newer one's with dipsticks.
