I've never heard of a crack in one of the bores for the valve lifters, but I would thank that as long as the crack doesn't go any further it whouldn't hurt anything. If it's where you can get to it you might try drilling a small hole at each end to stop it from going farther. Are you sure it's a crack and not a mold mark?
