Jim: I would venture a guess that Beckers have been crossing the puddle for well over 100 years. They are still coming as I know a Becker in New Brunswick that still has his mother tongue accent. I suspect the Beckers here in Ontario have been here well over 100 years. Just looking at the communities where the name seems most common. They look like the 1890's crowd. Whole communities were settled here in the 1890's and they named the communities, with names from home.
