Either Your pulley & fluted PTO clutch drive cone are loose from the hub of the pulley or the hub & key have worn the keyway in the crankshaft. If the pulley/cone is loose on the pulley hub a couple tack welds will fix the situation with the pulley removed from the tractor. If the hub has worn the crankshaft/keyway it's MUCH more complicated. Welding the crank could be required or cutting another keyway in the crankshaft. Neither should be done with the crankshaft installed in the engine. If the pulley just wobbles back & forth when the engine runs the pulley is probably just bent from trying to be removed years ago. If just the PTO pulley wobbles it probablty means the pilot bearing the PTO clutch assembly rides on is SHOT! OR the setscrews that hold the clutch to the pilot bearing are WAY too loose. There's three holes with allen head setscrews on the rear portion of the PTO pulley. And there's TWO setscrews in each hole, SIX total. They must be returned into the holes in the proper order. Do a search for the Frequently Asked Questions on ihcubcadet.com to find a lower cost sealed ball bearing from NAPA. The bearing from Cub Cadet is kinda expensive.
